About The Role

The Design Director will ensure the Category portfolio meets the WOW criteria and company goals, in line with agreed strategy, creative vision, financial goals and timelines through strong creative and technical leadership.

Responsibilities Include

Strategy and Vision

• In conjunction with the senior leadership team, set the creative strategy and direction to capitalise on Moose existing and new brands.
• Lead cross-functional development managers to drive innovation on cost and time in the most sustainable manner.
• Work closely with the creative team to ensure branding message consistency across product, packaging and marketing content.
• Ensure company and departmental annual goals are met and in line with budget and timelines.

Design and Development

• Drive all aspects of concept and product development.
• Direct Senior Design Managers and Lead Illustrators to execute the agreed design vison across categories.
• In collaboration with Marketing Leadership team develop line plans for approval.
• Work with external contractors or inventors to review and develop concepts, ensuring manufacturing feasibility.

Leadership and Staff Management

• Champion the Moose culture to enable your team to deliver on The Wow.
• Oversee the day to day workloads and performance of direct s towards the achievement of agreed objectives and deadlines, through the provision of clear direction, coaching and support.

• Able to set and develop organisational goals and have a clear vision of the organisation’s future.
• Keeps up to date with competitor information and market trends and has strong interest in social, cultural and fashion trends.
• Continuously drives improvements for business results.
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills to ensure the team feels empowered, motivated, capable, confident and committed to achieve personal and company goals.
• Able to make timely and effective decisions with business and financial acumen.
