  • Salary $65,864 – $109,055 per annum, pro rata, plus 10% superannuation (commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience)

Family and Children’s Services is responsible for the coordination, advice, education and delivery of a broad range of services for children and families from 0-17 years of age. The Opportunity
Positioned within our Family & Children Services department, this role will see you accountable for leading and working as part of a team of Educators that are committed to ensuring the delivery of quality education and care programs that cater for the individual needs of all children within our community.
Reporting directly to the Kindergarten Team Leader and leading the Co-Educators, Students and Volunteers, your responsibilities will include the following:
  • Working according to the Child Safe Standards, National Quality Framework and curriculum frameworks.
  • Developing a high-quality curriculum to enhance children’s learning and development, in line with curriculum frameworks and educational leadership;
  • Developing and maintaining positive reciprocal relationships with and between children, families and educators, including mentoring educators; and
  • Initiating and promoting warm and intentional interactions with children as a key learning strategy;
  • Ensuring each child’s learning and development is supported and assessed as part of an ongoing cycle of planning, documentation and evaluation.


Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), or other relevant approved ACECQA qualification;
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the legislative requirements, regulations and developmental frameworks within the early childhood sector, such as Child Safe Standards, National Quality Framework and National and State Early Years Learning Frameworks;
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality contemporary educational programs;
  • Ability and experience in leading and mentoring a team of educators and co-educators, including educational leadership within the centre;
  • Ability to self-manage work requirements in liaison with the Centre Co-ordinator and other members of the centre leadership team; and
  • Hold a current and valid:
    • Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
    • First Aid Level 2 Certificate
    • CPR Certificate
    • Anaphylaxis Management Certificate
    • Emergency Asthma Management Certificate

Selection Criteria
Essential: Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), or other relevant approved ACECQA qualification.

Essential: Ability to lead, implement and monitor the planning and implementation of a play-based educational program which meets the National Quality Framework (NQF), including the National Law, Act and Regulations, Service Funding Agreement and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
Essential: Understanding of Victoria’s Child Safe Standards and how educators apply them in daily practice.
Essential: Extensive knowledge of child safe standards, children’s development and capabilities in resource planning.
Essential: Ability to work in collaboration with a team of educators and other specialised services to meet best outcomes for children and families.
