About the role: We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to join our Morgan Hill facility. Under general direction of the Regional Safety Manager, develops, implements, collaborates on safety and environmental programs to minimize the risk of illness and injury in compliance with applicable regulations. This role will ensure that all employees receive mandated safety and environmental training.

Compensation:
The following information is provided in honesty as a general description of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon related factors such as, skills and experience, education, work location, internal pay equity, etc.
Salary Range estimate: $19.00 – $22.00/Hourly
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clerical support related to safety training and new hire safety orientation. Creates and modifies safety orientation as changes are made to job procedures and equipment and continuously educates employees.
- As part of an effective worker safety program the person in this role will assist in developing, implementing, updating policies and procedures as mandated by local, state, and federal rules and regulations and conducts audits to ensure compliance/consistent application.
- Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local government requirements concerning employee safety in accordance with OSHA and the Occupational Injury Benefit Plan.
- Prepares, schedules, and/or delivers employee training related to safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental hazards and follows up to ensure that training requirements are completed timely.
- Prepares and maintains documents and records including chemical inventories, facility maps, lockout tag out instructions, personal protective equipment lists, etc.
- Works with Supervisor and Managers for all accidents and injuries to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to reduce the risk of recurrence.
- Works with HR and Department Managers to develop, implement and oversee “Temporary Transitional Duty” program. Ensures employees are in jobs that meet their assigned restrictions and assists with job modification to aid recovery and transition to regular duty.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares and updates an annual calendar listing due dates for s, testing and other required activities.
- Administer Shoe program.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Required:

- 2+ years of safety experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish or Punjabi required.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
Desired:
- Degree in environmental/OSHA safety or a related field preferred.
- OSHA 30 Hour Certification or trainer.
- First Aid CPR Trainer
- Forklift and Loader trainer
