We have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Financial Accounting Assistant to come and join our Finance team.

What will you do as a Financial Accounting Assistant?

• Monthly accruals and prepayments – Perform and review monthly postings in relevant P&L and Balance sheet accounts.
• Variance analysis – Actual v Forecast/Budget – Review variances on monthly basis and investigate any large variances.
• Monthly reconciliations – Preparation of monthly reconciliations for relevant balance sheet accounts. Providing explanations for month-on-month movements.
• International recharge accounting – Perform monthly postings and review for non-stock sold to international partners
• Debtor management – Invoicing and credit control for concession partners and marketplaces
• Company surveys – Completion of Office for National Statistics surveys
• Fixed assets – Processing the accounting entries relating to Fixed Assets for stores/Head Office and completing monthly reconciliations
• AP suppliers – Set up stock, non-stock, property suppliers and process any changes to information.
• Audit – Supporting the team in the year end audit and assisting with the completion of the year-end financial statements.
• Any other ad hoc tasks as requested by management

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• You have successfully completed an undergraduate degree, preferably in Finance/Business/Accounting.
• You have a desire to study towards ACA/ACCA qualification
• Basic bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Can work independently as well as be a team player and flexible in approach to work
• Proficient IT/computing skills
• Proficient in Office programmes, particularly Excel
• Experience of using an accounting software would be desirable
• Basic knowledge of the Retail Industry would be advantageous
