The opportunity

Take the next step in your marketing career by joining one of Australia’s fastest growing publishers and B2B marketing agencies. We need an assistant, which means that while you won’t be running your own marketing projects yet, you’ll get great experience in a number of different tasks.

We bring the utility, water, energy, government, infrastructure and mining sectors together. Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to have much knowledge of these areas in advance, as long as you’re open to learning their hidden mysteries!

Who are you?

We need people who are excellent communicators, proactive, and comfortable taking on different roles in a fast growing company.

The core skills we need are:

• A can-do attitude, with a genuine focus on building a long-term career for yourself in this industry
• Confident communication in writing, on the phone and in person
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Calm under pressure and genuinely have great attention to detail
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• A solid understanding of marketing analytics and ing
• Some marketing flair, but you also need to be able to understand the needs of our business and the clients, so not all of your ideas will get off the ground
• Long-term ambition, and a willingness to do the hard work on the way there

Experience using any of the below will be highly regarded, so make sure you let us know if you have experience with any of the following;

• HTML or CSS coding
• Microsoft Excel
• Salesforce
• WordPress
• Zapier or any other workflow automation program 
• Leadpages or another landing page builder
• Google Analytics
• Google Ads
• Google Tag Manager
• Google Search Console
• LinkedIn Campaign Manager

What it’s really like

An average day at Monkey Media will see you performing some, if not all, of these duties:

• Providing exceptional customer service when liaising with clients on their campaigns and ing
• Creating e-newsletters for our magazines in Salesforce Marketing Cloud 
• Creating landing pages and subsequent automations for both our products and clients, then tracking these form submissions and optimising for a greater conversion rate
• Meetings with the marketing team as you discuss current client campaigns, events and brainstorm the next big idea for the business
• Pulling a list of everyone who is x, but not y, but only if they’re z
• Running a handful of niche retargeting Google Ads and paid social media campaigns both for our clients and our own products; then testing and optimising different creative and targeting options
• Figuring out how to track user behaviour and then linking these through as conversions on our ad campaigns
• Creating sales plans and scheduling EDMs for our magazines
• Updating our websites
• Selecting a quirky costume for the staff Halloween party
• Assisting with the production of our virtual events 
• Attending industry events where you’ll meet industry contacts, talk to people about what we do and always be on the lookout for new clients for us

As our team is now working a flexible mix between home and the office, we have moved to a co-working space, The Commons in the heart of Collingwood. It features an open air garden, weekly social activities, free (good!) coffee and tea and a wellness program.

But, like how many days and hours are we talking here?

We currently need somewhere between four and five days. If you meet the criteria and are prepared to work hard, we can find the hours that suit you. We all start as casuals, with permanent positions available after six months.

What is the pay and when can you start?

Everyone starts on $27.50 per hour. All of our senior team started this way. If you’re worth more, come and prove it and we won’t keep you waiting long.

We’ll do interviews in the next few weeks and can have you start soon after that (but if you’re working somewhere else and you need time to give notice, that’s fine).
