Ensures data solutions and models are efficient, reliable, scalable, and secure, while aligning with Moneris Data Strategy and enterprise governed standards

You will be accountable to:

• Design solutions based on ongoing engagements with business teams. Use engagements to deliver effective solutions and to determine continuous improvement opportunities and establish a pipeline of work. Will mentor others in this work.
• Perform data analysis on opportunities to determine viability and to size impacts to business process improvements and expected work effort. Use analysis to assist in sequencing activities and development plans.
• Build capabilities in data quality and consistency by embedding controls and error handling within solutions.
• Assess the completeness and accuracy of data, identifying gaps in data, provide feedback to business and system owners with guidance and options to obtain missing information
• Participate in the architecture, design and implementation of complex data solutions including having demonstrated knowledge of development best practices for the full development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Performance tune and optimize stored procedures, tables, and triggers. Work with data engineers to troubleshoot, repair and performance tune solutions in a variety of database environments.
• Partner with analytics teams to provide solutions to common challenges on scaling, optimizing, and operating data at scale. Takes on a consultative approach to offer advice and feedback.
• Works to enhance and improve data security and privacy standards in partnership with Privacy Office and Info Security.

Your experience includes:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Computer Science ; or equivalent work experience in a Technology or business environment
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working in developing and following structured work processes in data development and / or analytics solution design
• MS-SQL, SSRS , Stored Procedures
• Viz: Power BI, Tableau
• Worked in Cloud Environment
• Git, Active Batch
• Good to have: Python, Pyspark
• Proficient in programming languages specific to environment and can code with no oversight. Excellent ability to design and engineer solutions.
• Knowledge of data management, governance, data design and database architecture. Can access and understand data within a variety of databases and file structures with no oversight.
• Knowledge of business analytics and performance management principles including KPI and KRI management an asset.
• Proficient in leading projects or project steps and communicating progress/approach with technical and non-technical peers/clients.
