The Opportunity

eSolutions is looking for an enthusiastic Software Developer who will apply quality software development practices to a wide range of award winning research and education systems, supporting approx. 80,000 Monash students and 15,000 staff at Australia’s largest university. Working within an agile team the Senior Developer will be providing technical leadership and solutions designs across the testing, development and maintenance of applications software. The position works closely with end users and other business stakeholders to deliver well-engineered applications that meet business requirements and satisfy stakeholder needs.

The Software Developer also contributes to the strengthening of capability and embedding of best practice software development within the CIO Portfolio by influencing approaches and work practices and encouraging adoption of recognised models.

To be successful in this role you will have;

• Substantial experience in the delivery of quality software development and construction practices, including application development, identification of test needs, testing and testing techniques, web development tools, configuration/release management, coding standards, code reuse and documentation
• Advanced skills in core technologies and one or more core programming languages {e.g. Javascript, Java, PHP} coupled with a strong working knowledge of {Agile methodologies, SDLC, AWS cloud based services, SQL, MySQL, Postgres}
• Highly developed planning and organisational skills, excellent relationship management and consulting skills, along with analytical and evaluation skills which include demonstrated experience in problem solving and trouble-shooting in a test environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide authoritative advice and effectively translate and present complex information will be a great asset to this role
• The ability to quickly understand business requirements and translate these into well-engineered programs will also serve you well

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
