About the Role and You

MonashHeart is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced cardiac sonographer to undertake a 12 month fixed term contract as our Point of Care Ultrasound Educator in Echocardiography. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the provision of echocardiography in critical care settings. In addition they will have a passionate interest in promoting the highest levels of expertise for Monash Health physicians. Utilising hands on training and guidance they will continue and further develop the current Cardiac POCUS program.

Candidates should have:

• Full accreditation with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry [ASAR] is a mandatory requirement of this position.
• Ability to foster autonomy and a high standard of clinical reasoning skills in the performance of POCUS echo procedures.
• Demonstrated excellence in dealing with multi-disciplinary teams and a commitment to the continuing professional development needs for the relevant colleges.
• Extensive post graduate experience in provision of acute echo will be an advantage.
• Ability to liaise with hospital personnel, private referrers, contracted agencies, clients and family members.
