POSITION SUMMARY:

Modern Pest is currently seeking a Vice President of Finance to join our team based out of our Executive Office, located in Brunswick, ME. This is an on-site, leadership role and does require a physical presence in our Executive Office to build strong relationships amongst both the executive and finance teams. 1-2 days of remote work may be possible after 6-9 months with the company.

The VP of Finance will operate as the financial leader of the company. As a key member of the executive management team, this individual will directly report to the President, working as a partner in business strategy development and overall management of the company. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company, including direct responsibility for accounting, tax, treasury, audit, forecasting, strategic planning, legal, mergers and acquisitions, and institutional financing. The VP of Finance will focus on profitability, organic growth, and acquisition due diligence and integration. In addition to serving as the leader for the Modern Pest Finance Team, this position will also have reporting responsibilities to the VP of Finance for Anticimex North America, our parent company.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Lead all financial aspects of the business
• Deliver timely, accurate, reliable information with appropriate actionable insights to help the business achieve its stated targets
• Decrease or eliminate financial surprises, enabling leadership to make informed business decisions
• Drive efficiency and professionalism in finance and accounting functions
• Assess and develop existing team members to ensure finance function is set up to support the business operating at peak performance
• Streamline and improve the finance and accounting operations
• Drive automation and enhance processes to support reduced cost and additional scale, including layering in tools and technologies to make reporting and analysis more efficient
• Lead M&A activity, including pre-deal diligence and post-deal integration
• Coordinate financial and operational analysis with internal and external partners
• Participate in the valuation, negotiation, and diligence for acquisition targets, helping leadership assess the viability of a robust acquisition pipeline
• Integrate acquired companies into the existing finance platform, working to bring acquired companies onboard quickly and effectively

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Baccalaureate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or closely related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Current CPA license preferred
• Financial Management experience strongly preferred.
• Prior experience performance acquisition related due-diligence and company valuation
• Must be able to work well in a team-based office environment
• Ability to create financial modeling and forecasting tools
• Extensive working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Must be able to work in a team-based office environment and must have strong leadership and people skills.
• Must possess ability to coach and supervise personnel one-on-one and in group settings.
• Must have strong organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills.
