A well-established clothing manufacturing company in Montreal looking for a Fabric Cutter for Women’s Apparel.

Position: Fabric Cutter

Responsibilities

• Must know how to use the cutting knife.
• Prepare material to sew into a garment or pattern by measuring, placing markers, smoothing out creases and checking the fabric for faults.
• Planning how much to cut from piece of material and ensure there is not much wastage.
• Handle various fabric material and cut fabric rolls into a given number of yards or follow the pattern specifications.
• Carefully cutting delicate material by hands.
• Must be able to prioritize work order to ensure timely production of goods.
• Prepare and arrange cut pieces for contractors.
• Must follow health and safety procedures carefully.

Qualities

• Good hand to eye coordination.
• A steady and accurate hand for cutting.
• Must pay attention to details.
• Good understanding of textile would be beneficial.

Education Requirements:

• High school or more
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset

Salary/Hourly Rate: T.B.C.

Expected start date: 2022-02-14

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
