Mobis US Alabama Hiring for Logistics Manager at McCalla, AL Full Time

SUMMARY
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the establishment and administration of the Mobis U.S. Alabama (MUA) Logistics working group. The incumbent manages all areas of the In-bound/In-house logistics, transportation, package, logistics cost/systems, salaried and hourly staff and cost reduction improvements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

Logistics Planning

• Develop all areas of the logistics plan and maintain logic master information
• Create and maintain manufactures inbound packaging to include; design, bidding, testing Approvals, and communications with suppliers)
• Design transportation routes, modes, lead times and estimated costs
• Manage the logistics lay-out of the MUA plant including; department, stock levels, locations, logistics flow, replenishment methods, and docks
• Design logistics equipment including low, high, and special racks, carts, in-house packaging and powered industrial equipment
• Prepare inventory control procedures including; loading and unloading, package waste, OS&D, replenishment, error proofing, and cycle count inspections
• Identify the required number of Team Members, equipment, and costs
• Calculate the logistics cost impact of engineering changes
• Maintain and improve logistics systems including; Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and SC-Portals
• Prepare yearly budget plans and make supply chain contingency plans
• Evaluate and prepare customer audit responses
• Create monthly and weekly logistics s including; stock levels, logistic costs, down time, and shortages
• Coordinate window time and assign dock in MUA and supplier plant
• Communication and cooperate with suppliers about logistic conditions and claims
• Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas

Inbound Logistics

• Ensure shipping containers are delivered to MUA and off-site warehouses are returned to port on time to avoid late fees
• Maintain window time plan vs. actual
• Create transportation schedules for multiple daily shippers with third party logistics (3PL)
• Oversee Third Party Logistics (3PL) transportation, return package, and man power-outsourcing
• Load and unload materials in a timely manner to avoid premium waiting time charges
• Arrange and manage emergency transportation
• Maintain logistic cost data in Systems Applications and Products (SAP)
• Manage the SAP TM module

In-house Logistics

• Check stock level regularly and analyze plan vs. actual communicate with purchasing
• Ensure that proper First In, First Out (FIFO) protocols
• Maintain high rack accuracy SAP vs. actual for location, parts, quantity, FIFO dates
• Maintain sufficient parts stock levels in the warehouse to stock production lines
• Oversee management of return packages and on daily activities, problems, and solutions
• Manage all 3R and 5S activities
• Ensure that all inventory hold locations are properly labeled, allocated and visually identified, performs cycle counts as required
• Manage and maintain the Over, Short, and Damaged (OS&D) process
• Audit incoming material in accordance with Mobis procedures for quantity of material
• Maintain logistics documents with purchasing
• Maintain logistics equipment and bidding for forklifts, reach trucks, dock levelers, battery chargers, PDAs, barcode readers, racks, carts, and tools

Manage Salaried and Hourly Team Members

• Direct all warehouse staff
• Train, staff, and manage attendance and turnover
• Oversee and provide counseling on appropriate progressive discipline per company policies
• Conduct annual evaluations (MBO) of supervisory personnel and evaluations for hourly team members
• Manage work schedules and team member overtime
• Conduct meetings with staff review safety issues or any other issues that may arise
• Follow all safety regulations relating to the warehouse and production floor

• All members in the Logistics Working Group including; 1 Sr. Specialist, 1 Specialist, and hourly staff

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or must have equivalent industry-specific experience
• 8 years of experience in Just-in-Sequence (JIS) production control field in automotive industry (logistic transportation, package design, logistic cost)

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Ability to work independently
• Detailed knowledge of logistics transportation, packaging and cost
• Detailed knowledge of material stock levels
• Detailed knowledge of JIS process and system in automotive industry
• Analytic skills in engineering drawing
• Comprehensive problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Industrial System Engineering
• Experience in automotive assembly/manufacturing logistics field
• Working experience with Daimler(Mercedes-Benz)
• Ability to use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA) program
• Plant start-up experience
• Ability to communicate with EU CKD control counterparts in German about supply chain and cost

Working Conditions:

• 70% in office environment, 30% in production environment
• Travel to customer (MBUSI located in Tuscaloosa, AL), supplier as needed
• Weekend overtime to support inventory audit when needed
• Overtime as needed to accomplish business objectives

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
