MMC Group Hiring for Senior Software Engineer Job at Binghamton, NY Full Time

Seeking a Software Engineer with Qt expertise. This position is responsible for developing software applications used in aviation security products with a focus on UI. This position works on debugging known issues and implementing solutions to issues or new features based on requirements. Additionally, the position tests and integrates software applications that meet system performance requirements and end-user needs. The Software Engineer may be assigned to work on a variety of applications relating to data management, GUI, image manipulation, database, report generation or other aspects related to products.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The Software Engineer will:

• Work with a team of other software and quality engineers with the goal of improving aviation security products
• Document and develop assigned software applications for data management, GUI, database, report generation and related product functions
• Utilize source control for software configuration management
• Participate in code, design and documentation reviews
• Define and perform unit test of software applications
• Support integration, test and validation of assigned software applications

Education & Experience:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years software development experience in C++
• Minimum of 2 years software development experience with Qt

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience with OOM/OOD
• Experience developing multi-threaded Linux applications with C++ and Qt
• Experience in GUI development using Qt
• Experience with socket programming (TCP/IP and UDP)
• Experience with database programming such as MySQL
• Experience using version control systems (Subversion, Git, or equivalent)
• Experience working within a software development process and adhering to software quality standards
• Demonstrated ability to write documented, clearly readable, maintainable and efficient code
• Ability to work with a remote team of engineers and scientists
• Ability to function effectively as part of a team, while also being able to work independently
• Proficient in use of office software tools (MS Office, Open Office or equivalent)
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
• US citizen authorized to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with programming 3D rendering engines using OpenGL and Shaders
• Experience with using D-Bus for process communication
• Extensive experience with Linux including system administration
• Experience developing software applications for commercial marketplace especially in a regulated industry (security, medical or similar)
• Prior direct experience developing software for 3D imaging systems for medical, industrial or security applications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
