Overview

Mitsui Bussan Logistics Inc., an established and growing demand chain management company, is seeking a talented and responsible professional to join our team as a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including accounts receivable, month-end and year-end closings, general ledger reviews and gross profit analysis. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, advanced Microsoft Excel skills and a minimum of 3 years’ general accounting and accounts receivable experience.

Remote / Working from Home: Employees are working from home and going to the office periodically as needed for team meetings.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities

• Daily application of customer payments through SAP Accounts Receivable module
• Daily accounts receivable functions including coding and data entry
• Analyze and maintain Accounts Receivable report
• Research and resolve discrepancies due to adjustments, deductions and product shortages
• Respond to customer inquiries promptly and accurately
• Follow-up with customers for past due invoices
• Issue debit and credit memos
• Perform month-end close reconciliation, analysis, and review
• Prepare month-end gross profit analysis report
• Preparation of journal entries for monthly expense allocation
• Manage preparation of annual credit risks reports
• Assist with annual year-end audit schedules
• File, organize and store accounts receivable records.
• Maintain and process recycle tax and other tax reports

Staff Accountant Qualifications

• Excellent and professional written and verbal communication skills required
• Strong aptitude for numbers and data analysis, quick learner, problem solver
• Ability to translate raw data into meaningful management reports and action plans
• Detail oriented, organized, with good time management skills
• Self-starter who takes initiative rather than waiting for instructions
• Multi-tasking ability in a complex product flow environment
• Must be willing to cross-train and provide back-up support where needed
• Advanced Excel skills are required to process and analyze data
• 3 years’ accounts receivable and general accounting experience

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting degree preferred
