About the role
Reporting to the General Manager- Digital Strategy & Service the Software Engineer will work in a small team of technologists. This role will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of IT solutions that meet Customers’ business requirements and comply with Corporate and Divisional Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines.

Core Responsibilities

• Support, analyse, and fix application software and data problems
• System Administration of various applications in use across the business
• Design, develop, enhance and implement applications in line with Corporate and Divisional requirements
• Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of methodologies, standards, and procedures

Essential Skill & Experience

• Degree in an appropriate Information Services discipline with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong systems and enterprise application programming.
• Strong software engineering patterns, techniques, and methods.
• Sound problem solving and decision making.
• Strong application programming knowledge in suites such as Java, Python, Microsoft.NET, Excel/VBA, Shell Scripts (Powershell, Bat, KSH), and SQL.
• Experience in using Change Management tools, version control & deployment procedures.
• Knowledge of Change Management, Incident Management, and Helpdesk systems.
• SAP Systems experience desirable
• SAP programming analysis (ABAP) and query writing.
• Data Warehousing experience
• Enterprise systems administration
