Missive is seeking an experienced CIPD certified HR Manager to grow a progressive team and help continue to build a defining culture. The role is fundamental to our ability to keep our culture thriving and our standards high. We are looking for an individual who cares passionately about people and about doing the right thing every time, with no exceptions.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a PR agency.
Core responsibilities:
Policy & Processes
Own and update Missive’s staff handbook ensuring policies meet all ethical, moral and regulatory obligations and, wherever possible, are best in class
Manage Missive’s HR platform, ensuring data is up to date and the team and line managers are using it to its full advantage
Oversee the annual leave process
Work closely with the Head of Resourcing to understand team pressure points and gaps developing within the team
Recruitment & Onboarding
Action the hiring plan as directed by the CEO and management team
Own and manage relationships with recruitment partners and job listing channels
Create and issue job descriptions
Filter applicants
Manage the interview process for each candidate
Draft offer letters and contracts
Develop individualised onboarding schedules
Deliver the HR induction for new starters
Remuneration & Reward
Conduct annual industry salary pay review and update banding where needed
Update payroll with remuneration changes
Continually review and update Missive’s benefits package
Manage the relationship with benefits providers ensuring the best quality and value
Identify opportunities to reward strong individual and team performance
Staff Progression & Promotion
Manage the bi-annual performance cycle, including the completion of annual reviews and objective setting
Action and facilitate promotions
Case Management
Handle any disciplinary processes and formal grievances
Handle sick, compassionate and stress leave alongside line manager
Facilitate parental leave and sabbaticals
Training
Oversee Missive’s Training Academy by helping to develop a mixture of in-house and external training and development programmes and reward systems
Track the team’s progress and encourage participation
Key Initiatives
Act as a principle member of Missive’s DE&I committee, leading the group to best in class standards, practice and progress
Support the MARS team (Missive’s virtual work experience programme) to recruit candidates and facilitate sessions
Skills and experience required:
Demonstrable senior level HR management experience from within a PR-agency environment
CIPD certified to Level 5
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
Strong leadership skills to both support and motivate staff
Outstanding time management skills and ability to multi-task
Strong planning and organisation skills
Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Ability to handle a range of issues with sensitivity and confidentiality
Ability to prepare reports, presentations and update policies from basic instruction with high levels of accuracy
A solid understanding of the key principles of employment law
A proactive and flexible approach to your workload
Solid ethics and morals and sound judgement
Advanced MS Office skills, including PowerPoint
