Position Function:

Tenure track assistant professor, with research and teaching
specialization in Islamic Studies. Regional concentration and
disciplinary approach are open, but may include areas such as
Islamic philosophy, theology, and/or ethics. Demonstrate creativity
and excellence in research and scholarship, engagement with the
broader concerns of Islamic and Religious Studies, and dedication
to teaching students at the undergraduate level.

Salary Grade : UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are “Unclassified” and salary
ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position carries a 3/3 teaching load, and the person filling
this position will be expected to teach courses in their area of
expertise as well as introductory religion classes. Schedule and
maintain specific office hours for the purpose of answering student
questions and preparing lecturers and other class material.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Religion or related field required by time of
appointment

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous college level teaching experiences; Ph.D. in
Religion
