Mission Academy Hiring for 4th Grade Teacher Full Time

Mission Academy www.missionacademy.org is looking for a 4th-5th grade combined classroom Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. We are hiring immediately, so do not hesitate to schedule a tour of our campus or call for more information. Mission Academy is located in beautiful mission-style buildings near historic Mesilla at 1730 Tierra de Mesilla, Las Cruces, NM 88005. We have small class sizes and friendly and supportive administration.

Educator Guide (Teacher) Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

• Degree in Education and at least two years of lead teacher classroom experience in upper elementary grades
• Passionate about implementing project-based learning with a STEAM emphasis
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Open to learning new things and receiving feedback
• Self-starter personality traits
• Working with students one-on-one when they need extra help or attention
• Tracking and evaluating student academic progress
• Leading parent-teacher meetings
• Maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, coworkers, and administration
• Managing student behavior in a supportive and kind way
• Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
• Communicating regularly with parents
• Helping students improve study methods and habits
• Courteous and professional demeanor and dress
• Able to work 7:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
• Ability to operate computers, classroom technology, and computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, copiers, and cell phone functions such as text, email, etc.)
