Mirvac Hiring for National Manager Finance – Residential Job at Sydney Full Time

We currently have a new opportunity for a National Manager, Finance to join our Residential team on a 18-month fixed term contract. In this role you will support the Residential division and serve as a key finance partner to the Residential business. This includes leadership and guidance to finance and project teams, ensuring integrity of numbers through effective resolution of financial issues, partnering with stakeholders and driving key insights of financial performance.

You will also oversee all finance requirements across the Residential business units including project performance and emerging finance risks, management and financial accounting requirements, data analytics and technology implementation, external market presentations, and development and execution of strategy for the Finance team.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Delivery of consolidated Residential results through high quality financial management and leadership
• Financial forecast risk management across residential development projects and overheads, including opportunities for improving operational performance and managing the 5-year profile across key metrics
• Ensuring accuracy, completeness, timeliness and adherence to accounting standards and business requirements
• Implement and maintain effective financial and operational systems and controls to drive quality, consistency and efficiency
• Execution of strategy for the Residential finance team, managing team output, motivation, providing guidance and support
• Build and maintain a high-performing team of Finance professionals including state-based Finance business partners
• Maintain a portfolio view of project performance, risks, opportunities, and emerging issues relating to Finance.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of divisional financial results reported to the market at half- year and year-end
• Oversight of financial reporting and analysis activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Manage the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process; prepare and monitor profit forecast and project KPIs, identify and recommend appropriate financial strategies on risks and opportunities
• Manage half-year and year-end audit requests and delivery of monthly reporting, monthly Finance Group and RLT reporting
• Review and sign-off of business unit accounting papers, and provide various technical ad hoc advice on accounting treatments
• Management of overhead and recoverable amounts and provide insights into initiatives to maintain appropriate overhead controls
• Oversee all BI activities within the Residential division and involvement in the Mirvac Business Platform Project streams

To be successful in this position you will bring:

• Qualified CPA/CA
• Minimum 12 years accounting/finance experience within property with strong commercial and leadership background
• Strong demonstrated capability in the following areas:

o Development Financial and Management Accounting

o Development Financial Metrics

o Understand Development Feasibilities and Key Performance Drivers

o Understand the Relationship (e.g., processes) between Finance and Development Operations activities

• Development Specific Systems and Data Flow
