Mirvac Hiring for Finance Manager Job at Sydney Full Time

We currently have an opportunity for a Finance Manager, Commercial & Mixed-Use Asset Creation to join the Integrated Investment Portfolio Division on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (Full-Time) basis. The role will be responsible for providing finance support to the Commercial & Mixed Use, Build to Rent (BTR) and Industrial development businesses across all states.

This role provides leadership and guidance to direct and indirect teams, ensuring integrity of financial results, communicating with key stakeholders and driving strong controls and procedures. This role will oversee all financial accounting matters, including statutory reporting, technical accounting, tax, audit matters, month end procedures and system controls.

Key Accountabilities

Support the delivery of divisional results through quality financial management and leadership.

Group and divisional reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, timeliness and adherence to accounting standards and business policies.

Core financial accounting technical compliance and controls focus across all states.

Maintain effective financial and operational systems and controls to drive quality and efficiency.

Partner with the Mirvac NEXT project team through the implementation of a new ERP.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Review and manage financial results of all individual development sectors and consolidated position, including ensuring month end and monthly deliverables to Group Finance and others, as well as half year and full year reporting and analysis.

Manage auditors and ensure timely delivery of audit deliverables.

Contribution to half year and year end reporting packs and papers.

Key support for technical accounting including, accounting papers and documentation of accounting processes and policies where required.

Review and manage monthly and reporting period end cashflow accounting between cash and accruals.

Review and manage monthly accounts for various entities and joint ventures including tax calculations and corporate analysis for statutory accounts and reporting segments.

Ensure the results of the business are closely monitored by maintaining effective financial controls and working closely with the other IIP Finance Managers to ensure actuals to forecast are managed.

Maintain strong relationships with finance colleagues

Actively drive process improvement projects to create efficiency and value

Financial and commercial involvement on existing projects and new business acquisitions including active support to the National Manager Finance in reviewing technical accounting implications and prepare accounting papers.

Effectively lead and manage onshore and offshore team members to achieve financial and business objectives. Month end process management across both onshore and onshore teams.

Actively involved in systems implementation as it relates to finance.

Strong mentorship and performance feedback to onshore and offshore team and point of contact between offshore and business.

Offshore team management of monthly metrics and performance; involvement in monthly operational team updates and day to day coordination; offshore compliance with Mirvac accounting policies.

Actively manage and review the work of staff tasked with undertaking income tax, TEA, FBT and GST calculations/information requests.

The ideal person will have:
Qualified CPA/CA or CFA equivalent

Minimum 8 years accounting experience with property development exposure preferred

Strong technical accounting skills

High level communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills

Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills

Strong people skills with the ability to engage and lead a high performing team

Ability to interact and engage at all levels within the business

Passion, a can-do attitude, and ability to work to deadlines

Excellent attention to detail

Intermediate to advanced excel skills

Ability to effectively manage a team (e.g. offshore, direct reports)

Capability to lead and motivate a small team through inclusive management

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to interact and build relationships with colleagues in different finance divisions and at all levels of management within the Group

Self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities
