Job description

The HR function is integral to operational delivery – by attracting, developing and retaining highly skilled people, we can ensure effective delivery of equipment and support to our colleagues on the front line. This is a particularly exciting time to join our Talent Acquisition Team, as we embark on a period of growth and transformation of our service. We are looking to hire a number of passionate and pro-active Talent Acquisition Specialists to join our developing in-house Talent Acquisition service.
When in office, you’ll be based in MOD Abbey Wood, Bristol. However, you will benefit from significant flexible working options in line with our “Smarter Working” policy.

Our diverse team provides a specialist service to functions across DE&S (Defence Equipment & Support) and our sister agency, SDA (Submarine Delivery Agency).
To do that you’ll collaborate with a diverse array of stakeholders across the business and be responsible for the full lifecycle of your campaigns, from devising quarterly recruitment plans, through advertising and sourcing to onboarding.

As part of our growing, busy HR function, you’ll have the opportunity to broaden and develop your existing skillset, gaining experience of working in a complex, matrix environment.

As a strong Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be detail focused and process driven. You’ll need to be confident enough to challenge the norm and push back on your stakeholders, yet sensitive enough to ensure a first-class experience for candidates and hiring managers alike.Please note some attendance to the stated site may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be entrusted with:

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle from brief to sourcing, screening, shortlisting, arranging interviews, offer management, and candidate aftercare.
  • Write brand-aligned recruitment advertising and post on relevant job boards and platforms
  • Utilise Sourcing tools to access the passive and active candidate markets
  • Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders across your function(s) and the broader organisation
  • Own the candidate experience across your campaigns, ensuring a quality service
  • Utilise our IT systems to manage requisitions, ensuring data compliance and accuracy
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop relevant assessment documents for candidate interviews
  • Involvement with HR & Talent Acquisition Continuous Improvement workstreams and projects including Diversity & Inclusion, Technology & Data, and more

What you will be assessed against
To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Experience of managing full lifecycle recruitment processes
  • Experience owning stakeholder relationships in an Talent Acquisition environment
  • Confident and competent utilising sourcing tools to access the active and passive candidate markets
  • IT and Data literacy, with experience of using an applicant tracking system
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competencies and behaviours will be assessed at interview:

  • Resourcing x 2
  • Managing a quality service
  • Communicating and influencing

If the outcome of the review results in an increase in the minimum salary and your salary offer falls below the new minimum, your salary will be increased to the new amount from your contracted start date. If the new minimum is less than the salary you are offered, the original salary offer will be retained.
