The primary purpose of the People Team is to attract and develop a thriving inclusive Project Delivery community in defence. The MOD has approximately 6,500 project delivery professionals (civilian and military personnel).
This is a Fixed-term Appointment as a Senior Project Leadership – Recruitment and Attraction Support in the Project Delivery Centre of Excellence. Your responsibilities will be as described in this job advert. The reason why you are appointed for a fixed period is due to the work the role is required for is expected to last 23 months . This post will therefore begin on your appointment and end 23 months after that date OR will end on 31/03/2024. You should be aware that when your Fixed-term Appointment at MOD comes to an end, arrangements will be made in line with the FTA policy.
You will be handling sensitive and confidential information and will need to ensure information is handled sensitively and in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
The role is responsible for:
Flexibility to adapt work areas to meet the emerging needs of the MOD Project Delivery Function will be required.
You will be supported and encouraged to develop your technical skills and gain relevant qualifications for future progression. The successful candidate will show a willingness to succeed, engage in learning and development for themselves and the role.
Please note that if the post holder does not already have one of these qualifications, they will be supported in the first 12 months after appointment. For example, CIPD, APM equivalent qualifications accepted, and lapsed qualifications should be refreshed; and, upon agreement with your Line Manager, suitable ‘higher level’ qualifications may be considered as alternatives and support may also be provided to pursue suitable ‘higher level’ qualifications.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six month probation period.
Posts based in London will attract the relevant London weighting.

An initial sift based on the lead behaviour (Communicating and Influencing) may be held if a large number of applications are received. If your application progresses to a full sift, all behaviours will then be considered.
Candidates may be asked to complete brief presentations as part of the interview process. The presentation subject will only be shared with candidates if they get to Interview stage.
As a result of the changes to the UK immigration rules which came in to effect on 1 January 2021, the Ministry of Defence will only offer sponsorship for a skilled worker visa under the points based system, where a role has been deemed to be business critical.
