Ministry of Defence Hiring for DIO – Finance Assistant Job at Wyton, East of England, England Full Time

This is a part-time role (22 hours per week) where you will be part of an inclusive finance team who are responsible for delivering capital works projects across the world, constructing a vast range of buildings and infrastructure to support the Armed Forces. You will be part of an inclusive finance team who partner delivery teams to provide accurate forecasting, financial support and future financial planning. It is an interesting dynamic area, where you will have exposure to multi billion pound programmes and can enjoy working with commercial and delivery as well as finance professionals!

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

As a DIO Finance Assistant you will support the Finance Teams with the production of monthly forecasts to include, but not limited to: – Journal completion and uploading. – Completion of month end financial templates. – Production of financial reports from CP&F and IMS. – Preparation of forecasting workbooks. – Accrual and expenditure reconciliations – Tracking of expenditure against approvals – Record of Bills for each project is to be updated monthly with latest expenditure. Ensuring costs match latest trial balance information. Update approval limits by project when received on both the Forecast and CP&F workbooks, for projects with multiple workstreams, track expenditure against approvals to ensure limits are not breached. Complete VAT corrections as required within the current accounting period.

You will also process payments for the Miscellaneous Bills system as required within 2 working days of appropriate approvals. Responsible for the e-filing of team Multi-User Mailboxes. Ad Hoc advice/taskings as required by the Project Managers and Finance Team

You will be supporting the finance team facing the United States Infrastructure Programme. The posts in DIO finance are responsible for key finance processes, including maintaining financial records, journaling transactions as well as making payments. They will also be assisting with the interrogation of financial systems and the provision of financial support relating to In-Year Management, the Annual Budgeting Cycle and Approvals.

• Familiarity of Microsoft Products inc Excel, Outlook and Word
