Mingus Mountain Academy Hiring for Dean of Students Job at Prescott Valley, AZ Full Time

Position Summary:

Responsible for the day to day function of the school. Will work in collaboration with the Group Living department to ensure all students’ needs are met. They will follow the school calendar and provide support, problem solving and feedback to help ensure that all students are following the schedule and accomplishing their educational goals.

Duties:

• Develops, maintains, supervises, and evaluates school expectations to ensure the environment is safe and one in which students can learn cognitively, behaviorally, and emotionally secure
• Thorough interaction and observation of staff and students, provides supervision, role modeling, teaching, instruction, and support working directly with staff and students.
• Monitor class transitions
• Monitor Bathrooms
• Establish norms with staff and hold staff accountable to the expectations
• Support teachers with classroom management
• Assists in addressing major behavioral issues
• Check for building and classroom cleanliness
• Participate daily in an end of day meeting to discuss and write the daily report
• Supports staff with creative, helpful tools for student management and program improvement.
• Re-directs negative behavior and encourages the use of positive coping skills
• Provides ongoing feedback to administrators concerning licensing, federal, state and local law, accreditation standards, and policy and procedures pertaining to daily living and student’s overall wellbeing.
• Contributes to the students/school outside of “normal” job responsibilities (i.e. coaching, activities.). Volunteers for extra duties/activities.
• Responsible for communication to treatment teams to ensure timely updates are conducted regarding the student’s progress or regress.
• Works productively with other Program Directors. Addresses/exposes all agendas, receptive to feedback, shares information, supports decisions made by team, etc.
• Complete any additional needs and responsibilities for school safety and as needed.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 21 years of age or older
• A High School diploma/GED
• Ability to obtain a AZ Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card (or have a current valid card)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

• Prescott Valley, AZ 86315: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Education & Instruction: 2 years (Preferred)
