Fairview School is seeking candidates for a full-time music teacher for general music grades K-5 and choral or instrumental music for grades 6-8.

Educators are supported by the Music Curriculum Specialist and three music support teachers in the office of Fine Arts, as well as the Milwaukee Music Educators Association, a growing community of music educators across the district who seek to share best practices and develop a strong and culturally responsive music curriculum.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must hold a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Instrumental (1506) or Choral (1511) and General (1515) music teacher license or have the ability to obtain the licenses by the start of the 2023-24 school year.
As of November 1, 2021, all MPS employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The health and safety of our staff and students is our number one priority.
All offers of employment are contingent on the candidate showing proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (currently one does of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine) to pass the pre-employment requirements. The Teacher salary range starts at $49,836 and increases according to the set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor’s degree and previous years of fully-licensed K-12 teaching experience
