Miller Insurance Services Hiring for Finance Assistant Job at London, England Full Time

The role

• Support the completion of company balance sheet reconciliations for Miller entities
• Assist with purchase ledger tasks, including processing invoices as well as preparing and running BACS payments
• Assist with month-end process and reportingAssist with year-end process, including ownership of dormant accounts and addressing audit queries etc.
• Work with the team to prepare responses to queries which our auditors may raise
• Maintain accurate reports and records, as required
• Involvement in ad hoc project work
• Assist with the production of ONAS reports and due diligence reports
• Produce other financial reports as required
• Adhere to and meet fully the expectations of Miller, as set out in its policies and procedures, training material, and embedded in its systems and controls. • Comply with any external rules and requirements imposed on individuals performing their role at Miller, such as Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules
• Promote Miller brand and values to enhance Miller’s reputation in the market

The candidate

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent)
• Studying towards AAT is desirable, but not essential
• Knowledge of key accounting principles, and knowledge of financial processes and reporting
• An understanding of the insurance industry is desirable, including the regulatory environment within which Miller operates and the requirements it must meet
• Experience of working within a Finance team, ideally in a financial/professional services environment
• Experience in undertaking reconciliation work and posting journals
• Strong attention to detail and precision in deliverables
• Ability to work well within a team, as well as self-motivated to work effectively independently
• Proactive and organised to deliver accurate work in a timely manner
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
