Millennium Print Group Hiring for Network Engineer (onsite) Full Time

Currently, MPG is seeking to hire an experienced Network Engineer for our location at 10900 World Trade Blvd., Morrisville, NC. If you possess the required skills and experience as outlined below, please submit your resume for consideration.

Position Overview

The Network Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. This employee performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction. The Network Engineer also provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations following established company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
• Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; focus on network optimization.
• Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
• s network operational status by gathering prioritizing information; managing projects.
• Maintains multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance in all facilities.
• Manages assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
• Responds to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions of network hardware and software applications to resolve operational issues and restore services.
• Work collaboratively to drive solutions promoting sound architecture principles, simplicity and component reuse in an objective manner to solve complex problems.
• Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
• Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards.
• Designs and establishes protocol compatibility standards, develops and implements network enhancements and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Works on projects/ systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration, and optimization.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Coaches less experienced staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
• Cisco Certifications required (i.e. CCIE/CCNA/CCNP)
• Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.)

Experience

• 4+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education, or certification
• 4+ years of experience working in a large enterprise network organization; network infrastructure [includes routers, switches, internet protocols (IP), and virtual local area networks (VLAN)
• 3+years of supporting manufacturing systems
• Knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting complex network topologies
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
• Demonstrated in-depth data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport).
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber.
• (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of basic network devices and basic network appliances.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio.
• Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed
• Ability to juggle office and warehouse work environments
• Ability to support multiple locations
