Milestone Technologies Hiring for Event Risk Assessor at Toronto, ON Full Time

Job Overview:
The Event Security Risk Assessor (RA) role is broad and requires strong operational, strategic and interpersonal skills. RAs interface with employees and will allocate, supervise and monitor risk assessments and action compliance in relation to security operations for in-person and virtual events on behalf of GSS. This work will predominately take place using GSS Event Tier Tool based on Salesforce software. The tool will designate mandatory and optional actions dependent on the risk posed by the event and the RA will monitor event coordinator compliance with those designations.

RAs work collaboratively with all Event Security teams across multiple sites and countries. RAs provide strong leadership and guidance to the Event Security teams during the event risk assessment process and during the completion of mandatory or optional actions. The role carries a significant amount of responsibility and requires a strong stakeholder with extensive security, events and risk assessment experience. Supervisory experience is desireable as the RA will monitor EC planning activity and will need to intervene to ensure compliance where necessary.

This is a full-time position reporting into the Regional Security Events Lead. RAs are based in client offices with the day-to-day working office decided by the Regional Event Security Lead in consultation with the Global Security Events Lead. Due to the nature of the role RAs may be required to travel to observe event security and may be required to work outside the traditional office working hours/days to monitor EC activity across time zones.

How You Will Make An Impact:
Allocate and supervise initial Risk Tier completion via the Event Risk Tier Tool

Allocate mandatory/optional event security plannning to Event Coordinators across the region

Supervize compliance with mandatory/optional actions and intervene where necessary to ensure compliance

Anticipate, identify and evaluate emerging risks or changes to existing risks during event security planning that may impact the people, assets and reputation of the client

Work closely with GSS and cross-functional partners to facilitate events both nationally and internationally

Have a detailed understanding of the client’s core values and culture, and work towards this during all interactions

Capture, present metrics and produce weekly reports for management where required

Capture, report and monitor lessonns learned from all events to ensure continuous improvement

Understake any other adhoc security duties or administrative tasks as directed by the Regional Event Security Lead or Global Event Security Lead

What You Will Need To Succeed:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience of the creation and implementations of risk assessments in an event or security environment

Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently, to work under stressful and tight deadlines and the ability to manage in fast-paced environment. Strong cross-group collaboration and relationship management skills

Ability to contribute to analytical planning, critical review and problem solving

Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual and stressful circumstances

Ability to communicate clearly in English (both orally and in writing)

Strong customer service and service delivery ethos

Ability to interact effectively with confidence at different social levels and across diverse cultures

Excellent IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office and Google programs confidently

Able to travel to all countries within your Region and work abroad for periods of up to one week at a time

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience supervising teams

Previous experience coordinating geographically diverse teams

Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a second language
