Loates HR Consultancy are proud to be working with our valued client Midland Lead to recruit a Financial Controller to lead and inspire their Finance Team.

This is an exciting time to be joining our business as part of our 2025 vision we have ambitious plans for growth and this role will play a key part in shaping and delivering these plans.

What you will be doing:

· Act as the architect for the future blueprint of our Finance team.

· Lead, inspire and support the developmental growth of our Finance function (currently a team of 3).

· Provide commercial insights and analysis for capital investments, to inform buying decisions.

· Recommend strategies for R&D tax efficiencies.

· Interrogate Business Central to identify opportunities for business efficiencies and the provision of insightful and impactful management information for the business.

· Produce monthly financial and management accounts, provide insightful analysis for the senior management team.

· Produce and review of monthly profit and loss accounts and cash flow forecasting.

· Governance and compliance management across the business including identifying future requirements.

· Production of year end accounts and liaising with Auditors.

· Liaising and co-ordinating activity with our external IT service providers, for both project implementation and day to day IT support.

· Acting as the lead SMT member for bespoke IT projects and accountable for their deliverables e.g., Hellenic.

· Reporting on progress of IT projects to the Directors and SMT.

What your team will be responsible for:

· Day to day management of external suppliers e.g., pension providers, insurance companies, health insurance, HMRC.

· Negotiation of supplier contracts and driving value from the contracts.

· GDPR and PECR – responsible for compliance, keeping up to date with legislation, reporting and following up any breaches.

· Maintain third party suppliers and customers’ info

· Submission of VAT return and tax submissions.

· Month end reconciliation – journal postings, accruals, prepayments, analysis and review

· Business Continuity – ongoing review of Business Continuity Plan to review and maintain levels of compliance.

· Pro-actively manage our credit control.

· Support and deliver stocktake and internal audits.

· Day to day HR administration and facilities management.

· Checking payroll and liaising with external payroll bureau for compilation

What you will need to have:

Essential

· Qualified/Part qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).

· Leadership skills and the ability to shape and motivate a team.

· Good working knowledge of MS Power BI.

· Excellent analytical mind, with an informed, evidence-based approach

Desirable

· Project management and project planning experience.

· Advantageous to also have had experience using MS Dynamics both CRM and NAV, Workflows, Dataflows, Timeware, Sage, MS Business Central, MS SharePoint, Hellenic Factory Systems,

· Previous experience of working in an SME or manufacturing environment.
