Position Details

Paraprofessional – Online Learning Center

Lakeshore High School , Stevensville, MI 49127

Hours: 29 per week

Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree or equivalent preferred

High School graduate or equivalent

Competent in the following areas: communication skills, organization, and in establishing excellent interpersonal relationships with staff and students

Duties:
Demonstrate understanding, patience, compassion, and positive feedback toward at-risk students

Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills

High accountability for student’s online learning through Edgenuity system

Alert certified staff to any problem or special information about an individual student

Effectively communicate the strengths and needs of students to staff and parents

Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and parents

Manage and instruct students on appropriate behavior using positive behavior support strategies consistent with Board of Education policy and procedures

Assist students in meeting goals; self-help, communication

Use and apply technology when working with students

Follow established policies/procedures (e.g. medical concerns, safety, student rights, emergency/disaster plan and so forth)

Maintain strict confidentiality with student and student’s family information

Regular and predictable attendance

All other duties as assigned
