Job Description

• Collaborate with the communications team to create engaging and compelling social media content, including graphics, images, videos, and written posts for a variety of audiences.
• Monitor social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) on a daily basis, ensuring timely responses to comments, messages, and inquiries.
• Monitor social media community pages and on any relevant conversations
• Proof read and edit social media posts from other teams within Council
• Provide analytics on engagement and audience growth on social media pages
• Provide support to upload content on the Council’s website and intranet.

The Successful Applicant

• Minimum one year experience in social media
• Strong understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and their features, including trends and best practices
• Ability to think creatively and generate ideas for engaging social media content
• Strong written communications skills with attention to detail
• Photo and video editing skills desirable
• Experience in updating websites and drafting newsletters desirable
