• An established State Government organisation are hiring for a part time role
• Provide a range of financial and accounting services for the department

• Ensure the businesses financial policies, procedures and activities comply with accounting standards and legislative requirements
• Ability to accurately present and maintain the chart of accounts and general ledger
• Ability to to interpret the Australian Accounting Standards, Government Accounting and auditing requirements and the ability to apply these requirements to the chart of accounts
• Financial data entry and information management
• Maintenance of accurate data, records, databases and information management systems
• Processing of accounts receivable invoices, cash management, debtor and creditor management, journals and reconciliations
• Work with finance colleagues and other internal stakeholders to implement changes to financial policies, processes and systems
• Assist in the development of tools and guidelines to support adherence to new policies, processes and systems
• Assist with the monitoring and continuous improvement of financial policies, processes and procedures by identifying opportunities for re-engineering and driving innovation
• Assist with the maintenance, development and delivery of financial policies, processes and procedures to support: – Reviews – Financial research and analysis – Financial management and reporting
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
• Highlight issues and risks, and provide advice on financial options & strategies
• Identify and resolve financial application performance problems through investigation, troubleshooting, testing and error resolution.
• Provide accurate information and sound financial advice to all levels of management
• Provide support for Oracle and other financial applications
• Prepare for financial audits
• Provide or assist with the development of: – financial statements – submissions – briefings – reports
• Undertake financial research & data analysis of strategic and complex funding matters
