Michael Baker International is seeking a Design Associate to join our Baltimore (Linthicum), MD team and become an integral component of our Architecture/Engineering Practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual whose responsibilities will include the design and documentation for a broad range of project types. With an ongoing focus on growing Aviation, Transportation, Municipal, Federal, Department of Defense, and International project opportunities, along with market-driven diversification including Commercial, Transit, and Adaptive Re-Use, the successful candidate will work in multi-disciplinary, collaborative design teams with architects, interior designers, site/civil engineers, and building systems engineers. You must demonstrate creative problem-solving, organizational skills, and production management capabilities.

Assists in the preparation of planning, design, and construction documents including studies, reports, sketches, schematic drawings, renderings, final contract documents, and as-built drawings

Works with senior architects and with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time

Prepares scale drawings and contract documents for construction

Prepares project designs and plans using computer assisted design software and equipment

Ability to be self-motivated and to research and troubleshoot problems as they arise

Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deliverable deadlines

Complete work in efficient and accurate manner

Availability to occasionally travel to project locations
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

BS/BA Architecture; Bachelor of Architecture; relevant design degree will also be considered

0-3 years of experience in the design and documentation of architecture projects, including well-developed skills in three-dimensional visualization and comprehensive building design

Experience with industry software including Autocad and BIM (Revit) required

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
