As a math curriculum writer, you will be responsible for designing and developing high school math courses. At Miaplaza, we value teaching towards understanding and applying math concepts instead of just memorizing steps to solve problems.

You will work closely with other subject matter experts, scriptwriters, and actors to produce engaging and academically rigorous videos and practice materials.

Requirements:

• 30-40 hours per week.

• 2+ years teaching experience in math, preferably at the 9-12th grade level.

• Bachelor’s degree in math; active teaching certification preferred.

• Knowledgeable on the structure of an effective lesson and familiarity with writing lesson objectives and aligning material to meet objectives.

• Ability to differentiate instruction to make learning accessible, engaging, and age-appropriate.

• Strong understanding of what makes a teaching video engaging.

• Experience using technology to support instruction, including Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially written.

• Growth mindset and motivated by constructive criticism.

• Independent and self-motivated. Being remote, you will need to hold yourself accountable for tasks and ongoing responsibilities with little supervision.

• Proactive. You’ll make a habit of seeking out ways to continually improve the production process and the quality of the content.

• Trust & integrity. You do what is right, don’t cut corners, and are open about your work and areas of growth.

• Strong work ethic. The team will depend on reliable availability and consistent output.
