The salary range for this position is $60,000 – $62,000 at
Assistant Professor rank. The salary of the finalist selected for
this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including
but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience,
specialty and training.

Position Summary
The Department of Psychological Sciences at Metropolitan State
University of Denver invites applications for a tenure-track
position in behavioral neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, or
cognitive psychology at the assistant professor level, to begin
Fall 2023. We particularly welcome applications from candidates
from underrepresented groups; candidates who have experience

for teaching and engaging undergraduate students. Faculty are on
9-month contracts with optional summer teaching. MSU Denver offers

Duties/Responsibilities
The teaching load typically consists of 3 courses per semester,
including both in-person and online formats. Courses taught might
include Brain & Behavior, Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive
Psychology, and Sensation & Perception. Other courses might
include core classes such as Introductory Psychology, Statistics,
Research Methods, and Research Methods Lab.
Other responsibilities include engaging in scholarly activities;
advising students; and performing departmental, college,
university, and professional service.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a doctorate in psychology with a
specialization in cognitive psychology or biological
psychology/behavioral neuroscience by the time of appointment. All
offers of employment are contingent upon completion of the doctoral
degree and a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching and mentoring
undergraduates and has experience with in-person and/or online
teaching. Candidates should have experience presenting research at
professional conferences and publishing in scholarly journals.
Candidates who have the ability to involve undergraduate students
in research are strongly encouraged to apply. Our university values
