This position is for an exceptionally well-qualified Software Engineer. This individual is an expert in one or more areas of software development discipline.

They perform independent research, evaluation, and testing to develop and propose department-wide best practices and standards.

They are thought leaders who set the bar for excellence in their daily performance.

As an Engineer IV, you are usually the most experienced member of your small self-directed team, following Agile methodologies and Scrum principles.

Along with your Scrum Master and Product Owner, you will play a prominent role in setting the tone and tempo for the team.

You will frequently be asked to work independently to evaluate new technologies, produce novel designs, or develop early prototypes.

As a Software Engineer IV, management will rely on you for key input into project planning, task duration estimation, technical feasibility assessment, and priority issue resolution.

You will be relied upon for key contributions to our technology stack, standards, policy and procedures. You will demonstrate expert proficiency in and have direct responsibility over at least one area of practice.

The SE IV also performs the duties of SE III as needed. (They analyze problems, designs, codes, tests, and documents assigned tasks of significant size and complexity.

They participate in code and design reviews of their own projects as well as those of their colleagues. This individual is relied upon by management for valued input into task duration estimation, technical evaluation, and expert issue resolution.)

• Apply Agile principles as a member of a Scrum team.
• Be a thought leader and represent engineering interests as a stakeholder in assigned projects.
• Solve complex problems and research difficult issues independently.
• Perform duties without requiring supervision. Work independently as directed.
• Provide self-direction in response to changes in requirements and specifications.
• Take initiative to raise issues with appropriate parties at all levels.
• Set the example in following departmental and project-specific development standards and processes.
• Show initiative in gaining expertise in emerging technologies.

Supervisory Responsibilities . No formal supervisory responsibilities. Assists with training efforts of team members

Requirements :

Education and / or Experience

• BS Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience of 6-10 years as a software engineer.
• Seasoned JavaScript developer who is highly proficient with ReactJS
• Commercial product development experience is required
• Web Application Architecture Experience, on highly scalable, highly available web applications

Technical Skills

• Superior knowledge of Javascript is required.
• Working knowledge of Python or other object oriented languages is highly desirable.
• A deep understanding of computer science across several technical areas.
• Wisdom gained through considerable software development and engineering experience
• Familiarity with WCAG 2.0 / AA compliant application development is highly desirable
• The right candidate recognizes and values good software development practices.

Compensation details : 130000-155000 Yearly Salary
