Summary
Great things are happening at Metal Sales, the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems. We have an opening for a Regional Material Planner for our West Region.
This position supports branches within the West Region with various buying and inventory responsibilities including timely and accurate ordering of coil, trim, and buyouts, preparing and distributing coil inventory s, and leading the swift and satisfactory resolution of claims against our coil inventory.
Metal Sales branches in the West Region are located in Fontana, CA, Woodland, CA, Seattle, WA, Spokane, WA, Anchorage, AK, and Denver, CO. Estimated travel for this role is 10-15%.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Setting minimum and maximum quantities for products
- Purchasing and releasing material to ensure on-time delivery of all raw materials
- Reviewing and adjusting stocked material configurations by working alongside Production teams to determine appropriate substitutions and potential inbound subassemblies
- Calculating the cost for incoming coil and optimizing by adjusting the release schedule
- Reviewing the coil needs and requests from material coordinators at local branches and advising of possible substitutions to meet customer requirements
- Planning for and processing the transfer of coil to/from locations
- Preparing monthly s on a timely basis
- Partnering with the Corporate Procurement team, including forwarding receivers and resolving issues with coil vendors
- Working with senior management in Procurement, Operations, and Sales to develop and maintain vendor relationships
Job Requirements:
The most qualified candidates will have:
- At least 2 years of experience in Material Planning or similar role
- Knowledge and proficient use of various computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy-focused
- Math skills, including subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals
- Ability to work as a vital part of a team and provide excellent customer service
- Ability to travel as needed throughout region

The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $105,000.
