About the role

Candidates will work with other team members in a clean-room setting, helping to produce laser glare safety eyewear for the mass market, as well as other products, using our proprietary optical films. Most of the processes and equipment are unique to MTI, so in-house training is provided.

Key responsibilities:
As a manufacturing technician, you will be working with semi-automated machinery on processes that are partially manual and require a certain amount of dexterity. While the role and responsibilities will vary based on business priorities, they typically include:

Assist in the setup of the manufacturing processes;

Operate different processes using various films, adhesives, and machinery;

Maintain equipment for a daily maintenance plan;

Maintain work area for cleanliness and safety;

Ensure the quality of the process input and output;

Support experimental work designed by the engineering team.

Due to projected manufacturing demands, there may be a requirement to work shifts

Minimum Qualifications:
College Diploma in engineering or related

2 years experience in a related work environment

Clear criminal background check

Capable of standing for extended periods of time;

Available to work overtime as required.

Able to work with tablets and MS software (excel/word);

Ability to document processes in English;

Ability to follow work instructions in English;

Task Ownership and accountability;

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;

Proven success working within an interdisciplinary team;

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional working groups, skill levels and expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:
NSCC Diploma in an engineering field;

WHMIS certificate;

Experience in a production/manufacturing environment;

Worked with machinery in an industrial environment;

One-year or more of experience in film processes using thin films;

Experience working in a clean room environment;

Familiarity with ISO 9001.
