Meta Materials Inc. Hiring for Director of Manufacturing at Dartmouth, NS Full Time

META is seeking a Director of Manufacturing for our facility in Dartmouth, NS. You will play the key leadership role in directing the production of electro-optical manufacturing and assembly, inventory management, shipping and receiving, team hiring, continuous improvement, world class manufacturing using Toyota Production System and Six Sigma quality programs.

Your role will be delivering upon targeted production and quality objectives set by the Senior Management Team. You will work independently as a self-motivated leader who is empowered to take action to do what is necessary to efficiently deliver quality results with support from other departments.

Some of the typical responsibilities will include:
Production staff hiring and supervision

Rolling out and maintaining 6S and other WCM techniques to operate an efficient manufacturing operation

Leading and supporting continuous improvement programs

Ensuring minimum and maximum raw material inventories are stocked appropriately

Generating weekly/monthly reporting on output and QC

Minimum qualifications:
10 years+ experience managing mid-high volume manufacturing of electro-optical component assemblies

BS or higher technical degree

Optical industry experience with RX lens manufacturing

Must live in or relocate to region of Halifax, Nova Scotia

Experience hiring, leading, and motivating a team of technical operators

Preferred qualifications:
Green or black belt continuous improvement certification

Holographic experience

Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering background

Cleanroom facility management
