Meta’s Optics & Display Research Group (O&DR) is seeking a capable and dynamic semiconductor Equipment Engineer to join our Pilot Cleanroom facility. The ideal candidate will have direct experience on wafer fabrication equipment in a cleanroom environment. Your job will be to support a world-class operation tasked with developing and scaling segment defining components. You will be responsible for executional aspects of a large Pilot facility ensuring the teams have the resources and support available to meet product milestone objectives and support product development. You will be an individual contributor ing to an equipment engineering process team.

Equipment Engineer Responsibilities:
- Deep equipment knowledge in selective sectors to provide insights and guidance for tool selection, process capability and process development.
- Accountable ownership of a specific wafer fab sector for sustainment of daily operations and process development activities.
- Work closely with engineering peers and operators to understand root cause of failures and drive continuous improvement, upgrade paths and support of technology roadmaps.
- Responsible for directing development of preventative maintenance activities for key tools.
- Develop and use metrics (Availability, MTBF, MTTR, Pareto analysis) to drive improvement activities on hardware, maintenance, and overall operation.
- Develop service strategies and work with vendors to ensure equipment availability and capability.
- Work closely with team leadership and peers to develop long term capability strategies and short term deployment and facilitization tactics.
- Mentor, train, and support engineering peers and technicians.
- Support documentation of processes, development of standards and deployment of best practices.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols.
- Hands-on activity in lab and fabs.
- Willing to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) for possible work handling hazardous materials.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Physically capable of servicing complex process equipment.
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in a semiconductor fab, R&D lab, or related technology area within an Equipment Engineering or Equipment/Process hybrid role.
- BS degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry, or similar field.
- Understanding of high vacuum theory and equipment maintenance.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience installing large pieces of capital equipment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in collaboration with others to make improvements through experimentation and drive toward standardized methods.
- Communication skills and cross functional partnering capability.
- Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities, responsibilities, and work hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lithography experience including coat, expose, and develop utilizing Tier 1 and Tier 2 tools (e.g. ASML, TEL, Suss).
- Field service engineering.
- New process development and process capability optimization.
