Mervis Industries Hiring for IT Specialist at Danville, IL Full Time

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The employee in this position will be responsible for assisting in a variety of IT projects. These essential functions may include, but not be limited to assisting the IT Team with projects and ad-hoc requests. The employee will directly to Supervisor of Technical Services of Mervis Industries Inc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Troubleshooting basic endpoint network connectivity (Wi-Fi, desktops, phones).

Assist in the coordination of Help Desk request to support day-to day operations pertaining to any IT issue.

Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware and software.

Setup new computers and related systems.

Train and provide technical support to end users.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The ability to work together with other employees as a team.

Experience with computer hardware, software and networking.

Excellent communication skills to explain ideas and plans to non-technical staff.

Ability to self-motivate.

Ability to take instructions and execute with minimal supervision.

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Ability to drive.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision at times as well as function as part of a team.

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

Problem solving capabilities

Ability to meet deadlines.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Understanding of computer hardware, software and programming.

Degree or equivalent experience in the field of Information Technology.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to stand, walk and sit throughout a shift.

Must be able to bend, stoop, twist and turn occasionally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the team member may be regularly exposed to loud noise, moving machinery parts, outdoor weather conditions and elements, airborne particles and fumes from gas, oil, grease, and welding arcs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.25 – $22.00 per hour
