Full Job Description
TITLE: Vehicle Test and Validation Engineer
DUTIES: Meritor Electric Vehicles LLC seeks a Vehicle Test and Validation Engineer based out of our office at 2415 Auto Park Way, Escondido, CA 92029. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position requires international and domestic travel, as needed, up to 50%.
Design End of Line (EOL) test procedures for production vehicles as well support more custom validation and calibration activities on advanced and/or experimental Class 6 and Class 8 commercial vehicles; Responsible for execution of vehicle testing in labs (chassis dyno, climatic wind tunnel), proving grounds and public roads; Work together with component owners, suppliers, HIL and System test groups to define overall vehicle test strategy, test requirements; Troubleshoot overall vehicle issues and support workshop activities and repairs; Well versed with vehicle and powertrain control strategies; Implement automated testing, data analysis and test s generation; Manage test fleet of Class 6 and Class 8 commercial vehicles; and Implement 5S for vehicle shop floor.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five years of experience in the job offered or related
Experience must include: Two years of experience with propulsion systems, diagnostics management, thermal management, automatic-manual transmissions, or similar relevant experience; experience with Model Based Controls Software in Matlab/Simulink; experience with 5S methodology; experience with using measurement, data analysis tools including INCA, ATI Vision, Raptor Cal, AVL Concerto, MDA, Matlab, etc.; experience with international test standards, setting up vehicles and vehicle testing on proving grounds and fleet drives; and experience with High Voltage Safety Standards and safety work procedures.
