Accounting Specialist

Mereen-Johnson, a vibrant and growing company is looking to hire an accounting specialist to work at its headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota. Founded in 1905, Mereen-Johnson is an industry leading manufacturer of high production machinery used primarily (but not exclusively) in the woodworking industry. Our world-class machines are in over 40 countries around the world.

We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual to fill this position. The accounting specialist will maintain complete and accurate records, perform routine accounting duties, and provide prompt, courteous responses to inquiries from customers, vendors, and other Mereen-Johnson team members. You should be a skilled researcher and problem solver, as well as possessing strong communication and computer skills.

To succeed as an accounting specialist, you should be committed to providing efficient, reliable support to other departments, and external parties. You should be trustworthy, thorough, and courteous with excellent time management skills.

Accounting Specialist Job Responsibilities:

• Work with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Process incoming payments by check, credit card, and EFT.
• Receive, process, and reconcile statements.
• Generate and review monthly reports.
• Prepare and make bank deposits.
• Assist with preparation for annual audits.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures.
• Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.
• Perform administrative and other tasks as needed.

Accounting Specialist Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of job-related experience.
• Post-secondary accounting training.
• Experience with manufacturing accounting a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 – $30.00 per hour
