ABOUT THE ROLE:
Summary of the role: We are very excited to be able to advertise for a Mental Health Social Work Educator to support our graduates in our expanded Mental Health Social Work Graduate Program. We currently have Social Work Graduates across multiple sites and teams, covering inpatient, perinatal, residential and community services. This is an exciting opportunity for existing educators or experienced Social Workers interested in entering the education space.
- Mercy Mental Health, multiple sites, Footscray (Ursula Frayne Centre, Saltwater Clinic), Werribee (Clare Moore Building, Mother Baby Unit, Community Care Unit), Hoppers Crossing (Wyndham Clinic).
- Part-Time Fixed Term, 0.6 EFT, 12-month contract
- Support and nurture Social Work Graduates
- Provide clinical education and individual clinical supervision/group reflective practice
- Serve as a valued member of the Learning and Development Team
- Work alongside our other allied health (Occupational Therapy and Social Work), Psychology and Nursing educators to support the wider mental health workforce and student programs.
ABOUT YOU:
- An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Extensive experience and expertise in mental health service delivery
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence and ability to drive a work vehicle
- Post registration qualification in education or relevant clinical area (desirable)

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
