Mercy Hospital for Women, Patient Services Department, Heidelberg has an opportunity for a highly motivated Administrative Officer who has sound communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service and demonstrates the Mercy Values.
- This role is in Birthing Suite Ward and Emergency
- Permanent Part time Monday to Thursday alternate weeks (week 2) from 0730-1600
- Ability to relieve planned leave and leave at short notice is perferred
- Primary functions for this position are discharging patients from the ward, admit newborns, register and send birth notices to councils, order and replemish stationery and supply stock for medcial trolleys and prepare patient packs, update the roster spreadsheet, balanace births and run statistical reports, cover emergency ward clerk breaks, check food orders, general clerical tasks such as printing patient labels, sorting of mail, photocopying, typing, monitoring BSU door, politely answering of phone calls and follow up any requests and reading and action emails.
- ABOUT YOU:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Accurate data entry and effectient and effective time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to productively learn and adapt to other software.

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women’s health and associated health, support and diagnostic services. We are a major teaching hospital and specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to treat the most complex obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological cases.
