Investment Consulting Analyst, Mercer Investments

What can you expect?

You will support the delivery of investment consulting services to our clients, and contribute to the growth of Mercer’s service offerings across the investment consulting landscape. This provides the opportunity to develop your skills to deliver investment advice and delegated (OCIO) investment solutions to some of Australia’s largest investor groups. You will have the opportunity to work with Mercer’s best of breed manager research and capital market teams to develop your technical investments knowledge.  

You will also have the opportunity to work across a broad range of strategic investment consulting projects for a variety of institutions, including superannuation, insurance, endowments and foundations.

We will count on you to:

Contribute to the business through application of analytical techniques and methodologies on a range of projects across Mercer Investments’ service offering under the guidance of more experienced consultants:

• Support delivery of client project work through research, analysis, applying relevant methodologies, attending client meetings and drafting s.
• Contribute to projects through effective management of tasks, and support the team to meet client deliverables.
• Develop own capability through informal and formal learning opportunities.
• Participate in internal projects to improve Mercer, in particular talent, quality, service delivery, internal efficiency / effectiveness and intellectual capital.
• Support business development initiatives and proposals.
• Develop other’s capability through informal and formal learning opportunities

What you need to have: 

• Relevant undergraduate qualification
• Team player; we rarely work alone
• Proactive and curious – ask questions, solve problems, persist to see change through
• Strong technical base across investments and / or actuarial
• Analytical skills and experience using spreadsheets and databases for information analysis
• High-level proficiency in programming and model building would be well regarded – VBA, Python, R
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated project management experience

• Relevant post graduate and / or completed or working towards relevant professional qualification (CFA/ CIMA or similar)
