How your role will add to the story:
The ‘Data and Digital’ team is responsible to build complex database and information systems; build data pipelines and integrate data to meet business, data analyst and data scientist requirements. The team is also responsible for executing the data strategy and assessing existing applications to keep abreast of industry standards and best practices; comprehensive data architecture design, supported by data governance for data collection, integration and management, preparing data for data analytics and enable the business for BI. Continuous improvement and exploring innovative opportunities to drive the IT strategy forward and keep pace with technological advancements. Focus is to transform data into knowledge to create value for the business

A day in the life:

• Develop and manage APIs landscape/solutions to provide and consume data for data and application integrations
• Build micro services and transform data; translate user requirements into software requirements and builds to spec
• Ownership to strategize and identify opportunities with APIs
• Manage Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and manage Digital platforms and solutions
• Plan, direct and coordinate all local application maintenance, enhancements and support activities for the application portfolio (project management where appropriate)
• Consult with other functions in IT division and Business Partners to determine requirements for both new development and maintenance/enhancements
• Consult with Information Security professionals to ensure information security practices are followed
• Develop POCs and MVPs, innovations, feature exploration: with APIs, partner with business to identify efficiencies, time to market, new business models or revenue opportunities and futureproofing
• Prototype predictive use cases (ie. Machine learning, AI)
• Technical and feature evaluations to enrich data advanced analytics platform
• Continuous improvement, efficiency driven and keeping current with technologies (where applicable)
• Support data team with integrations of data (using APIs or batch processing), building data pipelines and models for new software and data analytics applications
• Conduct research and provide recommendations to other information systems professionals regarding the collection, availability, and suitability of data
• Develop and implement data administration/custodial policy, standards, and models
• Maps data sources, documents data architecture, data interfaces, and data movement to have an accurate view of the larger data picture

Qualifikationen

Mercedes-Benz Fan skills, requirements & traits:

• College diploma in Information Technology
• 5+ working experience in Information Technology

3+ years with API management and development, DevOps, SDLC

• Familiar in data modelling, process modelling, master data management, metadata management and enterprise data management
• Nice to have: Kong Gateway, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, Talend, ETL, PostgreSQL, Power Automate
• Knowledge: API, Java, JavaScript, Spring Framwork, Spring Boot, Node JS, Mulesoft, Maven, SQL, Python, Git, Jenkins, RESTful & Soap services
• Project Management: waterfall & agile
• Familiarity with FOSS standards to ensure compliance
