Menzner Hardwoods Hiring for Drop Sorter Operator at Marathon, WI Full Time

Menzner Hardwoods Co. is seeking a qualified individual for our Drop Sorter Operator position on first shift at our Marathon, WI location.

Job Summary:

The Drop Sorter Operator ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards.

Duties/Responsibilities

· Programming of the drop sorter to accommodate all rips being produced at the chop saws.

· Making sure rips are being separated and tallied correctly in the desired location.

· Monitoring bins to release rips to the stacker as required.

· Monitoring stacker to ensure rips are being tallied and tagged correctly when stacked.

· Inspects rips to ensure product is meeting Menzner quality standards.

· Performs minor maintenance on machine.

· Provides work direction for other employees working on the line.

· Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to multi-task.

· Strong organizational skills.

· Ability to follow proper safety protocols.

· Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.

· Strong mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment.

· Good communication skills.

· Ability to train employees.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational school diploma highly preferred.

· At least one year of experience as a machine operator required.

LIFTING / STANDING / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine. Continuous standing and walking.

First Shift Hours: 6:30am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday

Shifts include a paid break and paid lunch. Vacation and incentive paid time off during your first year of employment. $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Starting Base Pay Rate depends on skill and experience.
