Menzies is looking for an educator to join the Menzies-Ramaciotti Centre to deliver training focused on building the local and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workforce in regional and remote Australia.

This laboratory-based role will primarily involve development and delivery of training in microbiological and molecular methods to junior staff, students and trainees. This position requires a high degree of flexibility to meet training and supervision needs of students and a commitment to working collaboratively across disciplinary and cultural boundaries.

What you will bring to the role

As an enthusiastic, qualified academic you will have Bachelor of Science or teaching qualifications and/or equivalent experience in training delivery and mentoring of youth or junior staff including development of training programs or modules.

You will have highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with academic colleagues, junior staff, students and people from diverse cultures.

The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to develop extended training modules that can be scheduled and delivered to groups of program participants at scale; provide support to program participants in career progression including applying for grants, facilitate extended training, work experience, professional development and leadership development opportunities; undertake laboratory essays with the highest care, rigour and attention to details.
