Pay: Base + Variable Comp Pay Position. Pay is commensurate to experience.

The Loan Sales Consultant is responsible for providing exceptional member service through our phone and digital delivery channels. Demonstrates a highly motivated, positive, and outgoing personality with a strong emphasis on results and sales to ensure the credit union maximizes lending opportunities. Commands a thorough knowledge of the lending process from application to closing to ensure maximum efficiency in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

• Interact through various virtual channels in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner, providing excellent member services to current and potential members.
• Demonstrates the ability to excel in a high stress environment and can meet or exceed individual and department goals and deadlines.
• Identify loan and ancillary product cross-sell opportunities through an extensive review of the applicant’s credit bureau.
• Interview consumer loan applicants and provide information on consumer loan products that best meet the member’s needs.
• Maintain and follow up pending loan applications to assure completeness and timelines of decisioning and funding of loans.
• Request, review, and deliver all appropriate documentation to the underwriting department.
• Uses strong interpersonal skills and influence to consistently achieve sales goals.
• Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members that meets or exceeds our Mission and Vision statements.
• Overcomes objections by confidently presenting appropriate solutions to fit members’ needs.
• Deliver the highest levels of service through same day or next day interactions with members.
• Assist consumer loan processors in facilitating loan closings (coordinate tracking of documents and/or information) and funding of loans when necessary.
• Build relationship with members and potential members and identify non-loan opportunities to expand credit union wallet share.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of consumer lending products, services, and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree or course work is highly preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ customer service/sales experience or equivalent desired, with consumer lending experience preferred.
