The Opportunity

Melton City Council is seeking Early Years Administration Officer with a passion for working with diverse and complex tasks within the children and families department, to work in our Family Day Care and Vacation Care programs and as needed supporting Families and Children services and projects.

To provide comprehensive administrative and business support to Family Day Care, Vacation Care and to the broader Families and Children business unit as required and to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, reliable and professional administration and financial processing associated with the Family Day Care and Vacation Care Services and the broader business unit.
• Provide quality administrative support, promote and participate in programs with the Early Childhood team and Families and Children Leadership Group when required.
• Develop and implement systems to ensure legislative compliance with regard to the Child Care Management System.
• Ensure all documentation maintained is accurate and compliant with the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations.
• Provide information and resources to Educators and staff to ensure administrative compliance with relevant legislation and National Quality Standards.
• Respond effectively to customer enquiries about the Family Day Care and Vacation Care Services.
• To maintain Council’s website to ensure current information about Families and Children services.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Knowledge of a range of Education and Care Services, particularly Family Day Care and Vacation Care
• Specialist knowledge of Child Care Benefits/Rebate and the Child Care Management System.
• Understanding of State and Federal Government policies and legislation as they relate to Family Day Care and Vacation Care.
• Knowledge and expertise in administrative systems and processes with a high level of oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated skills with computers and software packages, including the use of Microsoft office, Harmony Web and QikKids
• Skills in conflict resolution and problem-solving, managing own time, setting priorities, planning and organising work to meet deadlines and budgets.
• To work collaboratively with other Council Services, families and community.
• Ability to use own initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent positive customer services skills, ability to provide support to staff, Educators and families
• Postsecondary qualification in administrative duties or relative extensive experience
